PlayAudioVideo is a search engine to help you find multimedia stored on the web. We think it is important to note the distinction between a content storage site and a search engine. The former stores the full content of, for instance, videos, audio files and images. The latter just indexes it, to help you find it. PlayAudioVideo stores just enough to help you decide if the multimedia you find is really what you are looking for. For audio files, a 16 seconds snap shot is taken and for videos 3 seconds. For images, PlayAudioVideo takes no snap shot (thumbnail) at all. |
PlayAudioVideo is powered by the Munax Search Engine, a system distributable over an indefinit number of computers, all at one place or spread over the internet. You can read more about it by clicking on the Munax AB link below. The PlayAudioVideo project started in July 2007. Although the Munax Search Engine is capable of indexing almost any type of document, we decided to create a first search engine for multimedia only. What you see here is the first BETA release of that search engine. We would be happy to receive feedback from you.
